At GriefShare, you’ll find a safe, comforting place where you can talk with others about your grief.  You’ll find support, direction, and guidance on how to make it through.

What are your plans this holiday season? If the thought of Thanksgiving traditions and Christmas trees brings feelings of loneliness, sadness, or despair I encourage you to come to the "Surviving the Holidays", which is being offered in person at First United Methodist Church, 225 South Second Street, Chambersburg on November 5th at 3:00 pm.  For more information you can call 717-263-8491 and ask for Gail.

Save the dates and stay tuned!

GriefShare -

A 13-week GriefShare Support group will start at First Church Monday, September 11, 2023, at 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. For more information or to register, call Gail at 717-263-8491 ext. 207.

How will GriefShare help you?  When a loved one dies, it can feel like you’re alone.  Few people understand how painful and isolating your grief can be.  But that doesn’t mean you have to suffer by yourself.

Youth Group

Illuminate Youth meet Wednesday evenings at 6:00 PM.

5th Quarter On Friday, October 13, the youth are opening the gym for a 5th Quarter here at the church! All students in 6th-12th grade are invited to join us (and invite friends) for an evening of fun, food, and fellowship after the Chambersburg High School football game. The event runs from 8:30pm-11:00pm.

If you want to help with this event, Collin is looking for 2 ways you can help:

  1. If you are a "night owl", we'd love some extra help cleaning up and setting up chairs and tables at 11pm for Sunday services. We'd like to be able to leave by 11:30pm and that can only happen with many hands helping.
  2. We are looking for some snack donations for this event. This includes (but is not limited to): Frozen/appetizer type foods (i.e. chicken nuggets, french fries, pizza bites), snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.), and baked goods (brownies, cookies, etc.). Please contact Collin if you want more information or would like to donate food for this event, or any of our upcoming youth events.

The youth are having their annual Fall Party at the Byers house on Saturday, October 14 from 4:30-8:30pm! All students in 6th-12th grade are invited for food, capture the flag, ping pong tournaments, pumpkin rolling, and more. Please contact Collin for more information and the address (if needed).
