“There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature – The assurance that dawn comes after night, and Spring after Winter” – Rachel Carson
Happy Lent and Welcome Spring!  The dark days of winter are coming to an end as we “sprung forward” this past weekend.  I spotted the 1st little tiny crocus in my neighbor’s yard peeking up through the ground (snow), soon to be followed by the beautiful bright yellow daffodils sprinkled about my own yard.  We get so excited about Spring!  Every March we tend to say, “Spring is my favorite time of the year!”.  I get a pair of sandals out, and happily put my hat & gloves away… but then the temperatures drop, it snows again, and we dig out a winter blanket to throw over our “spring spirits.”
Sometimes our relationship with God can be like the seasons.  There are days when my heart and soul feel like the heavy winter blanket, and we dwell on the problems and disappointments.  Other days, we recognize Him as the Light and bright “springtime” moments and find the blessings around us.
I’m learning to grow in the hard “winter" times, lean in closer to Him and trust His timing for every blessing.  God loves us and is with us in every “season” of our lives.  Welcome the transformation of the earth and also what God will do in our lives this Spring – bringing renewal and new hope.  Spring also reminds me it is time to get out and be with each other again. God created us to live in community, not solitude and isolation.  Excited to see you Saturday and may God bless you with the hope of Spring!
