Prayer Partner May Focus:

We might try to base our confidence on what we do well, or what someone might say about us. But true confidence should be built on something different. We think it’s found in understanding how God is both big enough to create the universe, but also close enough to be right here with us. We know that we can trust God no matter what. We are crated in God’s image. And God loves us so much! Nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And, when we trust Jesus with our life, the Holy Spirit is there to help us face whatever comes our way. We can respond to God’s love and care with confidence!

Pray and ask God to open each kid’s heart to receive God’s love. Ask God to help them learn to feel confident, knowing that the Holy Spirit is here to help them. Ask God to help the kids show the fruit of the Spirit in their interactions with others as they make the wise choice.

The MX Week Schedule is posted.

MX Sign Up Sheets are available at the Next Steps Desk in the Lobby.

VBS Registration is open!

MX Dates: June 14-18th, 2023

What is MX? MX is an abbreviation of Mission Experience. It's a new way of saying 'Service Project' or 'Work Camp'; except for these differences:

  • MX is intentionally as intergenerational as we can make the entire week-long experience be! It's not just a term we use to mean 'all ages'; it's a term we use in our vision! The church AND the family working in partnership to disciple their children. Discipleship happens in small age-appropriate groups; Discipleship also happens when two different generations sit next to each other and share EXPERIENCES!
  • MX is about being open to all possibilities and saying confidently and enthusiastically, 'Yes. Lord!' to opportunities instead of listing reasons why something is too expensive; too difficult; too bizarre; too different.
  • MX is about connecting FUMC with our neighbors, but also with each other!
  • MX is about experiencing our vision of 'Connect Ignite Shine' to understand our vision.

Every member of FUMC is invited to join us this summer as we set out to experience whatever moments God has in store for us!

Nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and
resurrection of Jesus.

Prayer Partner April Focus: We live in a “me-centered” world, where people act as if the world revolves around them. It can be hard to figure out how to be humble throughout the different circumstances we face. Thankfully, we don’t have to figure this out on our own. When Jesus was on earth, He gave us the ultimate example of humility. Jesus is God, and He put that aside for us. Through His life and death, Jesus also showed us how to serve others and put them first. Pray that you would be able to model what it looks like to put others ahead of yourself and pray the same for your prayer partner.

Through His life and death, Jesus also showed us how to serve others and put them first. Pray that you would be able to model what it looks like to put others ahead of yourself and pray the same for your prayer partner.

Earthquakes in southern Turkey and northwest Syria

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck southern Turkey at 4:17 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, the most powerful earthquake recorded since 1939. In the hours that followed, at least 78 aftershocks were reported, followed by a second earthquake of 7.5 magnitude. Tens of thousands of people have been killed, and responders are still recovering victims. The earthquake also heavily impacted northwest Syria, where 4.1 million people depend on humanitarian assistance. The majority are women and children. At this time, Syrian communities are simultaneously facing an ongoing cholera outbreak and extreme winter weather events, including heavy rain and snow. UMCOR has released initial solidarity grants to longstanding partner, International Blue Crescent (IBC) and Forum for Development Culture and Dialogue (working in Syria) to help provide tents, heaters, blankets, warm clothes, ready to eat meals and first aid kits to those who have been displaced. IBC has offices in Turkey.

Write UMCOR Earthquake on a pew envelope to contribute.
