Order of Worship

In Worship Today:

Diaconal Minister of Music - Linda Peppernick

Reader - Doug Harbaugh

Acolyte - Cindy Robison

FLOWERS The altar flowers this week are to the Glory of God given by Doug and Sue Harbach.

The altar flowers this past week were in loving memory of Mothers Elizabeth Upperman & Ivy Miller from Betty Upperman and family.

Flower Update - Dear Folks, There are 7 openings for altar flowers this summer. I am inviting anyone, who would like, to share a vase or a basket of flowers from their garden. This would be in place of the regular altar vases. So many of you have beautiful flowers during the summer. Wild flowers could be included, also. I thought this would be a way to share the beauty of your flowers. If you are interested let me know. My email address is renshawb@pa.net or call me at (717)263-3660. I will also have a signup sheet at the Welcome Desk. Here are the dates: June 4, July 2, 9, 16, 23, August 6, and September 3. Thank you, Bette

Prayer Partner May Focus:

We might try to base our confidence on what we do well, or what someone might say about us. But true confidence should be built on something different. We think it’s found in understanding how God is both big enough to create the universe, but also close enough to be right here with us. We know that we can trust God no matter what. We are crated in God’s image. And God loves us so much! Nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And, when we trust Jesus with our life, the Holy Spirit is there to help us face whatever comes our way. We can respond to God’s love and care with confidence!

Pray and ask God to open each kid’s heart to receive God’s love. Ask God to help them learn to feel confident, knowing that the Holy Spirit is here to help them. Ask God to help the kids show the fruit of the Spirit in their interactions with others as they make the wise choice.

New!

The MX Week Schedule is posted.

MX Sign Up Sheets are available at the Next Steps Desk in the Lobby.

VBS Registration is open!

MX Dates: June 14-18th, 2023

What is MX? MX is an abbreviation of Mission Experience. It's a new way of saying 'Service Project' or 'Work Camp'; except for these differences:

  • MX is intentionally as intergenerational as we can make the entire week-long experience be! It's not just a term we use to mean 'all ages'; it's a term we use in our vision! The church AND the family working in partnership to disciple their children. Discipleship happens in small age-appropriate groups; Discipleship also happens when two different generations sit next to each other and share EXPERIENCES!
  • MX is about being open to all possibilities and saying confidently and enthusiastically, 'Yes. Lord!' to opportunities instead of listing reasons why something is too expensive; too difficult; too bizarre; too different.
  • MX is about connecting FUMC with our neighbors, but also with each other!
  • MX is about experiencing our vision of 'Connect Ignite Shine' to understand our vision.

Every member of FUMC is invited to join us this summer as we set out to experience whatever moments God has in store for us!

Day 1

Creation Station

Day 2

From the pit to the Palace

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Service Opportunity: Trustees are looking to volunteers to mow the lawns at the church and trim once a week.  Volunteers must be 18 years.  Contact Doug Davis dougdavis0034@yahoo.com

Memorial Stone There have been discussions over the last few years about memorializing the people who were buried in our grave yard, which was located next to the Family Life Center. Joan Bowen did extensive research to determine a complete list of names. She also donated $8,000 to the project. We have decided to contract with Shull-Koontz Memorials for a granite stone and bronze plaque. The estimated total cost is $11,500. If you would like to donate to this project please put your donation in a plain envelope marked Cemetery Memorial.

Important Note regarding upcoming events: If you are planning a church event, please contact Stacey in the church office so that we can coordinate all events in the church and are not overlapping ministries. Thank you!

Please contact the church about hospitalizations as we no longer are contacted when parishioners are hospitalized.
